Pecha-kucha reaction

In my pecha-kucha, the most difficult thing was practicing. The slides change automatically in 20 seconds, so I had to check my reading speed and timing. Anyway, that was so interesting in both preparing presentation and listening presentation of others'. I want to use this presentation style in the future:)

Review of my winter ARW

First, I'm really happy to have survived my hardest term!!!! My winter ARW was hard, but it was also fruitful. In essay writing, it was my first time to write a long essay, so I had to think about it more than usual. In addition, Pecha-kucha presentation style was so interesting! I practiced more than 30 times to speak smoothly and make it more persuasive. When I was making slides, it was also fun to find the images that match my argument. From next year, I have a few opportunity to read and speak English in class. Then I want to talk my native friends in English, and write a kind of blog to write my opinion if I have time. I'll make use of being this special ICU and brush up my English skills :)

TED reaction

This TED is about sleeping. The presenter says sleeping is important to keep motivation and creating ideas.

Although there is no statistical data to show the importance of sleeping, this presentation gives me an opportunity to think my life -style. It is said that sleeping help memorizing. When I was in high school on senior grade, I had to study a lot to enter good university, but I always slept in around 11 O'clock. However, I've heard many of my friends talked that I studied until 2 or 3 o'clock yesterday, and they complained about not memorizing well. Now, I realized my sufficient sleeping helped my memorizing skills. I have a lot of things have to do recently, and I spare my sleeping time. I'll look over it again and take a enough sleep if I have a large amount of work :)

CM 8th class

In the last class, I've learned the useful add-on, Similar sites. This tools find the similar sites automatically, and I can check it in the left side, and there is no limitation in the number of sites appeared. Also, I can hidden the pages that I don't want to see, and share similar sites with my friend! When doing group work, I will easily find a lot of good sources, and do well on group work to share similar sites:)

CM 7th class

In this class, I got interested in Project Gutenberg, which is e-books site. All of the texts are full content, and I can see the even the picture book. In addition, all of the text are categorized, so I can check the specific area easily. This seems useful when I engaging in finding sources for essay. Of course I can watch it in my computer, and maybe can watch it in the smart phone. To do so, I could always read the text from everywhere, and it must save the time for reading huge text.

CM 6th class

In this class, Ithought Speed dial is useful. I often feel difficulties when I find the bookmark I really check out. It enables me to see bookmarks with images in the one page. When I search sources about essay, my bookmarks become messy because all of sources are very similar. Then this tool makes me convenient to find the precise bookmark:)

CM 5th class

In this class, I got interested in the add-on, Research words. This add-on help me to understand the meaning of unknown words. Just put the icon on the word, then click the right button of the mous, I can easily search it. Different from using electronic dictionary, I can search the word in wikipedia, or youtube, and it deepens my understandings. When I read the Difficult journal, this tool will really help me understand the meaning and detailed information.

CM 4th class

In the 4th class, I've learned useful add-on called wired-marker. It enables me to check the online document with various color. Even if I go to other pages, the data I edited is memorized, so I can check it at all times. It is useful when I work on my essay or even group work. If I check the other person's document online, everyone can easily check it! I really want to use this add-on :)

Fukuyama reading

1) according to fukuyama, we don't know when genetic engineering would occur. complex causality, the dangers of human experimentation and population can be the main obstacles.

2) we discussed eugenics and genetic engineering. Of course, its process is completely different; eugenics sterilizes defecit gene, and genetic engineering modifies DNA, but fundamental goal seems the same ones; to make human more ideally. Now, the world is well balanced naturally, so changing human nature artificially would make human species completely.

The tpo 5 best things for 2010

1. entered ICU! - I met many people who inspires me :)
2. started living alone - it's too hard but I got totally free!
3. caught norovirus - I never want to catch it
4. lost my wallet - I lost everything :( 35,000 yen and all cards
5.started snowboarding - I want to practice more!

My goal for 2011
I want to think deeply about my career. I finally got used to ICU life, so in 2011, I want to spend my free time thinking and searching information as much as I can:)

my opinion about bioethics

a) will you donate your own organs?
I will donate my organs because we have an obligation to help others, according to shannon's beneficience. more over, there is no risk to me because I'm already dead. If I can help other person using my organs, I willingly do that, and I can still alive in their body.

b)would you allow your parents to decide if you were brain dead? Also, would you donate the organs of your child?
I'll allow my parents to decide because I lose "autonomy" when I get dead, and it is my parents who bore me. So my parents also have a right to choose. In the case of my child I wish I could donate my child's organ to those need help, but when I actually get parent, I might not want to do that. It is difficult problem:(

which is the most bioethical?

consequentialism is the best way of thinking. The reason is that it focuses on outcome even though there is no criteria. Other theories, like Deontologism, don't care about its consequences. Right ethics can generate conflict of rights. Intuitionism is used by almost all people, of course I use it, but it seems too subjective and it is natural people cannot make agreements. I'd like to think more carefully before I make any decision.

My winter term ARW class

In this term, I would like to strengthen my reading skill. when I read the text, I often feel I am not good at reading. I actually read the text, but sometimes, the content doesn't come into my mind. Through winter term reading, I'd like to read the text faster and to pick up main point using effective annotations and highlighter. This is also helpful to searching sources of essay:)

I hope I can enjoy this class!
